Dreams Really Do Come True

As a child growing up on a farm in Southwestern Virginia, I knew I had to be the luckiest little girl in all the world.  I lived on a beautiful farm with kittens, a dog and a herd of Black Angus Cattle.  What more could any little girl want?  What I dreamed of every Christmas was a Scottish Terrier.  I just knew that one Christmas, I would get up and see a box under the tree tied up with a red bow and when I opened it a little black Scottie would jump out and lick my face.  She would be all mine and we would be great pals.  And I would raise dogs on my beloved Rocky Creek Farm forever.

Sometimes real (and wonderful) life gets in the way of childhood dreams.  Life took me away from my fabulous farm but I still had dreams of that little Scottle.  Even though I didn't ask for it every year, I still looked under the tree for the present I hoped would be there.  To make a long story short, my husband and I were able to purchase my beloved farm and then he started giving me gift certificates for Scottish Terriers for Christmas.  Not quite the same as opening the package and finding a snuggly puppy, but maybe better.  It gave me the opportunity to research breeders  and chose the Scotties that met or surpassed the AKC and Scottish Terrier Club of America guidelines.  Now I have 3 beautiful Scottish Terriers, a black female named Lilly, a wheaten male named Piper; and a wheaten female named Carrleigh.  I can definitely attest to the fact that 3 are better than one.
